Cancellation Policy
At Destinations Desired, we understand that plans can change, and sometimes it may be necessary to cancel a booking. This policy outlines the terms and conditions under which cancellations can be made, the charges that may apply, and your rights in the event of a cancellation. We aim to be as transparent as possible to ensure you are fully informed before making any decisions. We strongly recommend reading this policy carefully, alongside securing adequate travel insurance to protect your booking.
Cancellation by the Customer
If you need to cancel your booking, you must notify us in writing at the earliest opportunity. The date on which we receive your written notice will be regarded as the effective cancellation date. We strongly advise sending your cancellation notice via recorded delivery and retaining a copy for your records.
The following cancellation charges will apply based on the time before the scheduled departure date:
- More than 98 days before departure: Loss of deposit and all other payments made up to that date.
- 97 – 75 days before departure: 50% of the total booking cost or loss of deposit (whichever amount is greater), in addition to all other payments made up to that date.
- 74 – 29 days before departure: 75% of the total booking cost, in addition to all other payments made up to that date.
- 28 days or fewer before departure: 100% of the total booking cost.
Please note that certain bookings may be subject to different cancellation charges due to the specific terms and conditions of our suppliers. In such instances, we reserve the right to adjust our cancellation charges accordingly. Should your reason for cancellation be covered by your travel insurance, you may be entitled to reclaim the cancellation fees.
Cancellation by the Company
In rare circumstances, we may find it necessary to cancel your booking. Should this occur, we will refund all amounts paid by you to date. However, we will not be liable for any additional compensation unless explicitly stated otherwise in our terms and conditions.
If we make significant changes to your booking, we will offer you the following options:
- Accepting the changes to the original booking.
- Choosing alternative arrangements of equivalent or superior standard.
- Receiving a full refund of all amounts paid.
Important Considerations
- Third-Party Policies: Some services provided as part of your booking may be governed by third-party terms and conditions, which could influence the cancellation policy. We advise that you review any such terms that may apply to your booking.
- Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend that you obtain comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking, which should include cover for cancellation, curtailment, and any associated costs. This will ensure that you are protected against unforeseen circumstances that may necessitate cancelling your trip.
- Notification Method: Written cancellation notices should be directed to our customer service department via recorded delivery or a similarly verifiable method to ensure receipt. Verbal cancellations are not accepted.
This cancellation policy is designed to provide clarity and transparency regarding your rights and obligations should you need to cancel your booking. Please ensure that you understand these terms fully before proceeding with your booking.
