Balearics

The Balearic Islands are a group of Spanish islands located in the Mediterranean Sea. The four largest islands are Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. The archipelago also includes the islet of Cabrera and the islets of Espalmador and Ses Salines.

The Balearic Islands have something for everyone, whether you’re looking for a relaxed beach holiday, an action-packed adventure or a cultural city break. The islands are easy to reach from the UK, with numerous flight and ferry options available.

With its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters and lively nightlife, it’s no wonder that Ibiza is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Dubbed the ‘White Island’, Ibiza is known for its beautiful sandy beaches, including Cala Comte, Cala Bassa and Playa d’en Bossa. The island is also home to numerous nightclubs, including world-famous venues such as Pacha, Space and Amnesia.

Majorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands and is a popular destination for families and couples alike. The island boasts an array of activities and attractions, including water parks, golf courses, theme parks and archaeological sites. Majorca’s capital, Palma, is home to a stunning Gothic cathedral, while the resort town of Alcudia is a great place to relax on one of the many beaches or take part in some of the water sports on offer.

Menorca is the quieter cousin of Majorca and Ibiza, making it the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The island is renowned for its idyllic beaches, such as Cala Turqueta and Cala Macarella, while the historic city of Ciutadella is well worth a visit. For nature lovers, Menorca is home to a number of protected natural parks, such as Parque Nacional de Menorca and S’Albufera des Grau.

As the smallest of the Balearic Islands, Formentera is the perfect place to unwind and relax. The island is known for its unspoilt beaches, such as Platja de ses Illetes, and its laid-back vibe. Formentera is also a popular spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing, thanks to its strong winds.

Whether you’re looking for a sunny beach holiday, a cultural city break or an action-packed adventure, the Balearic Islands have something for everyone.
