Anaxos is a beautiful sandy beach flanked by a rocky outcrop, which is ideal for swimming, sunbathing and snorkelling. The village itself is quite small but has a handful of quality restaurants and bars, as well as a couple of small supermarkets. What Anaxos lacks in size, it makes up for in charm and its friendly residents.
The village is located in the north-west of the island and is a great base for exploring the rest of Lesbos. It is about a 45-minute drive from the island’s capital, Mytilene, and just over an hour from the popular resort of Petra.
